Clinical Significance QFT is an indirect test for M. tuberculosis infection (including disease) and is intended for use in conjunction with risk assessment, radiography and other medical and diagnostic evaluations.
Special Instructions 1. For each patient collect 1mL of blood by venipuncture directly into each of the QFT blood collection tubes.

2. Immediately after filling tubes, shake them ten (10) times just firmly enough to ensure the entire inner surface of the tube is coated with blood, to dissolve antigens on tube walls.

3. Label tubes appropriately.

4. Arrange transport to the lab within 16 hours of collection for incubation.NOTE: Specimen collection at locations >3350 feet above sea level should call the laboratory for QuantiFERON collection kit designed for “High Altitude” (tubes with a gold ring on tube top).
